Doug Suttles is Ovintiv’s chief executive officer. He joined the Company as president and chief executive officer in June 2013. With more than 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in various management and engineering roles, his leadership is responsible for the recent transformation of Ovintiv to a leading North American resource company.

Suttles joined Ovintiv from BP where he held a number of senior leadership positions, including chief operating officer, BP Exploration & Production and president, BP Alaska. He previously served as president of BP Sakhalin Inc., vice president for North Sea operations and president of BP’s Trinidadian oil business. Prior to joining BP, Doug completed various production engineering assignments with Exxon from 1983 to 1988.

Over the course of his career, Suttles has volunteered his time and talents to community organizations across North America. Suttles is a member of the National Petroleum Council and sits on the board of directors of the American Petroleum Institute, the American Exploration & Production Council, the Independent Petroleum Association of America, National Association of Manufacturers and the executive committee of Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. Suttles has served on the University of Texas Engineering Advisory Board since 2007 and was honored with the school’s Mechanical Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award in 2008.

Mike McAllister was named president of Ovintiv in September 2019. He is responsible for managing operations, exploration, land, marketing, midstream and corporate services. McAllister has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry.

Before joining Ovintiv, he held various technical and leadership roles for Texaco Canada and Imperial Oil Resources. He joined Ovintiv 20 years ago

where he has held positions of increasing responsibility. McAllister was instrumental in the capture and development of Ovintiv’s Montney interests, which led to the joint venture with Mitsubishi. McAllister led the transition of operations for the Permian and Anadarko assets when acquired by Ovintiv.

He holds a bachelor of mechanical engineering degree with distinction from Concordia University where he was awarded the Mechanical Engineering Medal; Lilley F. Barrie Scholarship; Canadian Iron and Titanium Scholarship; and the National Science and Engineering Research Council Master’s Scholarship. In addition, he completed the executive program at the Queen’s School of Business.

Joanne Alexander is responsible for the overall legal affairs of Ovintiv and its subsidiaries, and oversees the company’s corporate compliance program. She has more than 25 years of legal and business experience in the oil and gas industry.

Alexander joined Ovintiv in 2015 as executive vice president and general counsel. Previously, she has held senior legal and business roles with several companies in the oil and gas industry.

Alexander is currently a member of the Calgary United Way Campaign Board and the Snyder Institute Advisory Board at the University of Calgary School of

Medicine. She is a former Trustee of the Center for American and International Law and a Founding Member of the University of Calgary Law School’s Strategic Plan Campaign. She is a past president and former Director of the Canadian Petroleum Law Foundation.

In 2014, Alexander was recognized as one of the Women’s Executive Network’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada. She was twice a finalist for Canadian General Counsel Dealmaker of the year and Western Canada General Counsel of the year in business.

Alexander graduated with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan with bachelor’s degrees in law and commerce. She is a member of the bar in Alberta and Colorado.

As executive vice president and chief financial officer, Corey Code is accountable for leading Ovintiv’s financial operations. Code, who joined an Ovintiv predecessor company in 1999, has served in numerous leadership roles during his nearly 20 years with the company. He

most recently served as vice president of investor relations and strategy, and prior to that, as treasurer and vice president, portfolio management. He has been instrumental in the formulation, assessment and implementation of Ovintiv’s strategy.

Code graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a bachelor of commerce. He also received a masters of business administration from Queen’s University and is a chartered accountant.

Greg Givens was named chief operating officer in September 2019. He is accountable for delivering operational excellence across Ovintiv’s North American assets including leveraging the Company’s top-tier plays, optimizing base production to reduce costs, increasing netbacks and enhancing profitability.

Previously, Givens was vice president and general manager for Ovintiv’s Texas operations where he was instrumental in the Company’s success in both the Permian Basin and the Eagle Ford. He has more than two decades of leadership and operating experience in the oil and gas industry—working in all

facets of the business including drilling and completions, reservoir engineering, development, operations and business development.

Givens was a founding officer of EP Energy, where as vice president of the Eagle Ford division, he led the development of a 90,000 net acre asset with an annual capital budget of $1.2 billion. He began his career at Sonat Exploration which later merged with El Paso Production Company.

Givens recently served as a board member on the Permian Basin Petroleum Association and concluded a three-year term on the board of the Texas Oil & Gas Association.

Givens is a petroleum engineering graduate from Texas A&M University and has a masters in business administration from Rice University.

As executive vice president, land and exploration, David Hill is accountable for leading his team in identifying and securing a top-tier resource portfolio for Ovintiv through exploration of new and emerging plays.

Hill has more than 30 years of diversified experience in the oil and natural gas industry. He joined Ovintiv in November 2002 and assumed a variety of leadership roles, including his previous position as vice president, operations, Encana Natural Gas Inc.

Prior to joining Ovintiv, Hill was president of TICORA Geosciences, a company specializing in unconventional natural gas resources with core retrieval, core analysis and consulting services. Hill worked at the Gas Technology Institute (GTI) in Chicago for 11 years in various management positions before joining TICORA. At GTI, he worked in gas shale, coalbed methane and tight gas sands program areas—specializing in natural gas resource characterization, technology development and technology commercialization.

Hill has a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering from Marietta College and a masters of business administration from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.

Brendan McCracken became executive vice president, corporate development and external relations in September 2019, after more than 20 years with Ovintiv. He is responsible for strategy and planning, business development and external relations including investor relations, communications and government affairs. McCracken, who started with Ovintiv as a summer intern, has played a significant role in the success of the company—holding a variety of engineering, commercial and leadership positions.

Most recently, he held the position of vice president and general manager of Ovintiv’s Canadian operations. Prior to that, he held the position of vice

president, investor relations, in addition to several other senior leadership positions.

McCracken is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta. He is active in a number of organizations including the Dean’s Advisory Council to the Mount Royal University Faculty of Business and Communications.

McCracken graduated from Queen’s University with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and from the University of Oxford with a master of business administration.

Mike Williams joined Ovintiv in March 2014. Williams is responsible for effectively overseeing the human resources, information technology, facilities, administrative services and travel support functions of the organization.

Before joining Ovintiv, he was executive vice president of corporate services with Tervita Corporation from 2011 to 2014. From 2002 to 2011, he was the chief administration officer for TransAlta Corporation. Prior to this, Williams held senior executive positions with Lucent Technologies in Europe, Cisco Systems in the U.S. and Newbridge Networks Corporation in Canada.

Throughout his career, he has assisted leadership teams in implementing successful strategies throughout all stages of the business cycle, from start-up to restructuring.

 

Williams is currently a board member of the Calgary Food Bank and chair of the Governance and Compensation Committee. He is a past board member of the Chamber of Commerce, past chair of the Chamber’s investment committee and a past member of the governance and human resources committee. Williams is also the past co-chair of the United Way of Calgary information systems, energy and service sector, past chair of the board of Hull Services, a past board member of Honens (World Federation of International Music Competitions) and a past board member of the Legacy Children’s Foundation.

Williams holds a bachelor of arts degree from Cardiff University, U.K. and a postgraduate degree in human resources management from Aston University, U.K.

Reneé Zemljak has more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry including marketing, trading, transportation, commercial midstream, commodity derivatives, commodity research and price risk management. As executive vice president, midstream, marketing & fundamentals, Zemljak is responsible for marketing Ovintiv’s natural gas, crude oil and natural gas liquids, and executing the Company’s commercial midstream negotiations. She also is responsible for leading an energy fundamentals team focused on the assessment of global energy markets and trends, executing a comprehensive commodity price risk management program and contributing to the overall strategic direction of Ovintiv. Her leadership has been

instrumental in the development and implementation of Ovintiv’s strategic plan as it relates to capital allocation, portfolio management and revenue maximization.

Zemljak joined Ovintiv in 2002 as vice president of USA marketing, which led to her current position as executive vice president.

She has been recognized as a distinguished alumnus of Montana Tech and was awarded the Montana Tech Alumni Recognition Award. For three consecutive years, from 2014 to 2016, Zemljak was honored as a Top Woman in Energy by the Denver Business Journal. In 2016, she was recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Oil & Gas by the Oil & Gas Diversity Council in Houston. Zemljak founded the Encana Women’s Network, an internal network focused on inspiring and empowering women to reach their full potential in the energy industry.

She received bachelor of science degrees in both finance and accounting, with an emphasis on computers, from the University of Montana.
